We believe in the transformative power of AI to solve complex problems, drive innovation, and create new opportunities across industries. However, we also recognize the environmental impact of machine learning computing.
We are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint and working closely with our clients and partners to meet their sustainability goals.
We are partnering with CNaught, the leading provider of science-backed, high-integrity, carbon credit portfolios, to offset the carbon emissions generated by machine learning projects. CNaught’s portfolios are made up of four different categories of project types, which build on a paradigm laid out in the Oxford Principles. This not only maximizes climate impact and minimizes risk, but also allows for investment across multiple technologies.
Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority Landfill Gas Collection Project (Pennsylvania):The Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority Landfill Gas Collection and Combustion Project captures landfill gas that would, under normal circumstances, be emitted to the atmosphere and generates electricity from collected gases.
Katingan Mentaya Project (Indonesia): The Katingan Mentaya Project protects and restores 149,800 hectares of peatland ecosystems that would likely otherwise have been converted to palm and other plantations.
Delta Blue Carbon Project (Pakistan): The Delta Blue Carbon Project seeks to restore 225,000 hectares of land through large-scale mangrove restoration on the Indus Delta in Pakistan.
Frontier Carbon Removal Portfolio (California): The Frontier Carbon Removal Portfolio focuses exclusively on the most innovative permanent carbon removal technologies ready to rapidly scale. Frontier technologies are highly vetted against target criteria, including the ability to store removed carbon for more than a thousand years and the potential to be low-cost and high-volume in the future, in line with 2050 climate goals.
We believe that AI can help create a better future — and we’re committed to making sure it’s a sustainable one.
